Emma Urban

Emma Eiffert Urban, a homemaker, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2013 at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Charles O. Urban. She was born Emma Mary Eiffert on January 17, 1918 in the Bywater section of the city of New Orleans. The daughter of the late David J. Eiffert and Stella Buisson Eiffert, she was a twin and one of twelve children. Preceded in death by her following siblings: Cecile Urban, Gladys Kelly, Norma Cichetti, Albert Eiffert (MIA 1942), Charles Eiffert, Emmett Eiffert (twin), James Eiffert, Joseph Eiffert (MIA 1942), Leo Eiffert, Urban Eiffert, and Merlin Eiffert.

Mother of David J. Foster (Charlene) and the late Martin L. Foster III (Cynthia), Grandmother of Martin L. Foster IV (Jennie), Diane Foster Roussel (Ricky), Donald D. Foster, Ryan M. Foster (Shelley), Kathryn Foster Moscona (Benjamin), and the late Christopher M. Foster and Robyn A. Foster. Also survived by two great-grandsons, four great-granddaughters, many nieces and nephews, and long-time friend Marguerite Theobold. A resident of both the St. Roch and Faubourgh Marigny sections of the city of New Orleans for many years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at Jacob Schoen & Son, 3827 Canal St. on Saturday March 30. Visitation will begin at 10am followed by a chapel service at Noon. Interment at St. Roch Cemetery No. 1.
