On June 5, 2017, Eloise Rousselle Long entered into Heaven to assume her new position as Chief Cleaner, Organizer, and overall Orchestrating Angel. Eloise was born in New Orleans and was a lifelong resident of Metairie, Louisiana. She graduated from Grace King High School, and worked for many years as a Credentialing Staff Specialist for Ochsner Hospital. Loving her family was her greatest joy, and she welcomed everyone into her life with open arms, and was always there to offer wisdom without passing judgement when you needed advice. Her family will miss her contagious laugh followed by her infamous phrase, “Ya know” which always followed. She was a resilient fighter, and even through the most difficult days of her illness insisted on sipping Starbucks coffee through a straw and being present for each and every moment she could with her family. It was through her fighting spirit that she was able to carry out her final wish of celebrating her daughter’s 25th birthday, just hours before she passed. Eloise was a rare light in life to those who were proud to know and love her. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Richard A. Long; her daughter Megan Long (Rowenna); her step-son R. Jeremy Long; 3 grandchildren Jaden Long, Chloe Long, and Noah Long; her siblings Charles Rousselle, Harriet Rousselle Wainwright (John), Paulette Rousselle (Mary Corderio), Luana Perez (Sal), and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, Louisiana, on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the services beginning at 12:00 p.m.
