Elina B. Landry

Elina Blanchard Landry passed away on her birthday, Monday, December 15, at the age of 90 with her loving family at her side. A native of Belle Rose, LA and a longtime resident of Metairie. Elina attended Belle Rose High School, where she played basketball and clarinet in the band. She moved to New Orleans where she met and married the love of her life, Fred (Sug). She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, and worked as an executive secretary at Pellerin-Milnor Corp. of Kenner. Elina was also a volunteer at E.J. Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Frederick Joseph Landry, Sr., parents Clay Blanchard and Luce Landry Blanchard, and brothers U. J. Blanchard (Louise) and Raymond Blanchard. Elina is survived by her children Frederick Joseph Landry, Jr. and Francine Landry Pittman (Jimmy), grandchildren Meghan Pittman Estrada (Andy), Matthew and Mark Pittman, and Michael and Scott Landry, and sister-in-law Doris Blanchard. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
