Elaine Arlt Valenti

Elaine Marguerite Arlt Valenti, a devout Catholic, passed into the arms of her most beloved Jesus on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at the age of 94 years. Elaine was a retired teacher, guidance counselor, and school administrator in a career that spanned 30 years. A native of New Orleans and a resident of Harahan. Elaine was the daughter of Angeline Mendel Arlt and William Arlt Jr., the son of a German immigrant. Elaine was the beloved wife of the late Saverio (Pete) Valenti, a decorated WW2 hero, for 67 years. So blessed were her 5 children to have Elaine for their mother, Keith Valenti, Craig Valenti, the late Donna Volker, the late Kurt Valenti, and Robin Shelton Pitre. Also blessed were her 15 grandchildren, Dawn Webb, Darlene Smyth, Keith Valenti Jr., Antoinette Valenti, Andrew Valenti, Sarah Valenti, Ben Valenti, Nicholas Volker, Angelique Moody, Melissa Shelton, Tiffany Reese, Heather Shelton, An’gel Valenti, Patricia Wilson, and Kaleigh Ezell. She is survived by 10 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to the FUNERAL MASS at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, La. 70124 on MONDAY, June 26, 2017, at 2:00 pm.
