He was born on November 14, 1939 in New Orleans. He attended St. Martin’s Episcopal School and went on to earn a PhD in Physics from Tulane University. His post graduate work began in Tulane’s first computer lab. This launched his career in electronics, optics, and computers. He worked many years at Petroleum Helicopters Inc/Offshore Navigation Inc before starting his own company, Navigation Data Systems, which developed and produced a fleet tracking system before GPS. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, Pass Christian Yacht Club, and the Society of the War of 1812.
Some of his happiest times were fishing in South Louisiana, bringing his wooden boat to the Madisonville Wooden Boat Show, traveling- especially by train or boat, and spending time with family and friends at his farm in Folsom.
He was a proud supporter of The World War II Museum, The Monumental Task Committee, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, and the United States soldiers and troops whom he always prayed for.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 2216 Metairie Road in Metairie, Louisiana, on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 3:30 PM. Visitation will begin at 2 PM.
