Edith Fox Murphy, who loved to be called “Ahgoo” by her grandchildren, was called home to be with her heavenly Father, on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at the age of 85 years young. Beloved wife of the late James C. Murphy, Jr. Mother of Bennett Murphy (Kelly), James Murphy, III, Noel Murphy, Edie Haeuser (David), Kevin Murphy (Michele), Michael Murphy (Lisa), and Karen Seither (Steven). Daughter of the late H. Bennett Fox and Nora Glenny. Sister of Elizabeth “Betty” Fox Newman. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
A native of New Orleans, Mrs. Murphy graduated from Louise S. McGehee School and attended LSU where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Fraternity.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M to 10:45 A.M. Interment will follow mass in Metairie Cemetery.
