Donald P. Monson, age 71, peacefully passed away in his sleep on July 10, 2023. Son of the late Etienne Ford Monson and Helen Eckelmann Monson. He was a natural outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, and NASCAR races, and his pets. Donald spent the last 10 years as a dedicated employee of Ochsner Baptist working in Facility Services.
He is survived by his son; Jesse Monson, his dog; Dan Monson, his elder brother; Randy and his wife; Linda Monson, his younger brother; Brian and his wife; Sandra Monson, and his combined three nieces and nephews – Melissa Monson Hirling, Christian Monson, and Ashley Monson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
Interment will be held private for the family.
