Dominick John Lalla

Dominick was born on September 1, 1933 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Nicholas Joseph Lalla, Sr and Lena Cuccia Lalla who emigrated from Contessa Entellina, Italy. He attended St Leo the Great Elementary School on Paris Avenue, graduated from St Aloysius High School in 1952, attended Loyola University and served his country in the United States Navy.

He married Carolyn Coppage Lalla on January 9, 1957 and they were married for 67 years. They resided in New Orleans. He worked for his family business National Meat and Provisions Co. alongside his father and brother Leonard.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn Coppage Lalla, sister Antoinette Lalla Pichon, brother Leonard Dominick Lalla, fraternal twin brother Nicholas Joseph Lalla, Jr, and granddaughter, Christina Dominique Vautrot.

He is survived by his four daughters, Donalyn Lalla Shearman, Karla Lalla Hotstream, Kathryn Lalla Vautrot (Griffith Mills) and Carolyn Lalla Webre (Beaux) and four grandchildren, Ryan and Devin Shearman, Payton Hotstream and Jenna Hotstream Rodriguez, sister Anna Lalla Morrow, sisters in law, Earline Steib Lalla and Pauline Lalla, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Lakelawn Funeral Home on Friday April 26 at 10:00am, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00am, and interment thereafter at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery.

He never met a stranger.
