Dollye Harrison Mello

Beloved wife of John Joseph Mello (deceased). Loving Mother of Katie Mello Winemiller and Emily Mello Whitfield. Proud Grandmother (Mimi) of Megan Winemiller, Molly Winemiller, Harrison Whitfield, Vivian Whitfield and Everett Whitfield. Mother-in-law to John Winemiller and Brian Whitfield. Sister of Andrew Harrison, Francis Koepp (deceased), and Patricia Howell. Sister-in-law to Henry Mello and Ann Mello.

Dollye was a native of New Orleans and has been a resident of Kenner and Metairie for over 45 years. She graduated high school from St. Mary’s Dominican and received her Bachelor of Arts from University of New Orleans. Dollye was a teacher and librarian in the Jefferson Parish School System for over 30 years.

Relatives, Friends and Associates are invited to honor this amazing woman and attend the Mass of Christian Burial at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd (in Metairie Cemetery) on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 12pm. Visitation will be held from 10am until the service time. Interment will immediately follow in All Saints Mausoleum.
