Diane Fabacher Bravo Kussmann passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, June 13, 2015, age 81 years. She was born in New Orleans and lived in Covington for the past 29 years. She was preceded in death by her parents Marietta Lawton Fabacher and Edward Boos Fabacher, and second husband John Kussmann, Jr. She is survived by her two brothers, Edward B. Fabacher, Jr. and Robert J. Fabacher, and eight children, Renee Bravo Spratt (Rob), Kim Bravo Bourg (Michael), Karen Bravo McNabb (William), Dede Bravo Holmes (Dewey), Brian Bravo (Heather), Kenneth Bravo (Carole), Keith Bravo (Kris), and Bennett Bravo; step-daughters Patricia Kussmann (Don), Amy Kussmann, and step-son John Kussmann III (Rodney). Grandmother of Joshua, Lindsay, Leslie, Bryce, Matthew, Zak, Beth, Ashley, Lauren, and Lane, and step-grandmother of Lisa, George, John, and Katherine. Also survived by fifteen great grandchildren.
She was a member of many organizations, including Volunteers of America, Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Southern Dames of Louisiana, Covington Seniors Club, AARP of Covington, St. Tammany Hospital Hospice Volunteer, Council on Aging, Ozone Layers Quilt Guild, Retired Officers Marine League Auxiliary, Abita Seniors Club, Haddan Hall Seniors Club, and the Greater Covington Civic Association. The family would like to thank Canon Hospice staff members and her sitter Eula Phillips for their excellent service.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 11:00 AM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, June 17, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and on Thursday morning from 9:00 AM until time of service. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Volunteers of America or Hospice of St. Tammany.
