David Anthony Lubrano Jr. entered into eternal rest on December 4th, 2024 at the age of 41. Born on November 27th, 1983, he was a resident of Metairie, LA. David graduated from Holy Cross High School in 2002, and worked as an insurance adjuster for many years.
He was a lover of music, particularly the Grateful Dead, and enjoyed attending live music shows throughout the country. In addition to music, he loved surfing anywhere the waves would break from Grand Isle, LA to Miami, Florida. The late “Rambo”, his beloved canine companion for many years, held a special space in David’s heart. However, his greatest love of all, was time spent with his close friends & family, especially his nieces and nephew, to whom he was the “Funkle”.
He will be remembered for his quick wit, sharp humor, unbound kindness, warm heart, and endearing antics, most of which made him the life of any gathering. David’s ability to light up a room, and make anyone feel welcome and comfortable were unmatched, and his legacy will reflect this in all who were lucky enough to be in his presence.
Son of David Lubrano Sr. & Pamela Guidroz Lubrano, brother of Tara (Alex) Ledoux & Tiffany Lubrano, uncle to Lillian and Logan Ledoux & Lainey McCurdy & his loving girlfriend, Shazia Wahaj. Furthermore, David’s infectious charm will be missed by many loving aunts, uncles, & cousins.
Friends and family are invited to join a celebration of life at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124 on Monday, December 9, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will begin from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
In honor of David's vibrant spirit and love for the Grateful Dead, family and friends are invited to wear tie-dye attire to the memorial service. Let us celebrate his life with the colorful joy he brought to ours.
In lieu of flowers, we are graciously requesting that you consider offering a donation in David’s name to Pontcha Surf Club, so that they are able to continue their mission of sober surfing, while also further emboldening the legacy that David leaves behind.
