Dale Lynn Jones

Dale, 69, went home to his ultimate resting place in Heaven on Thursday, January 5, 2023. Dale was the beloved husband of Mary Bolling Jones for 39 years. Dale was the father of Collin Andrew Jones and the father-in-law of Tori Olson Jones of Metairie, LA and the soon-to-be grandfather of Sutton Nora and Jett Olson Jones. Dale was the son of the late Tillman Earl Jones, Sr. and the late Thelma Lee Jones and the son-in-law of the late John R. Bolling, Jr. and the late Nora Cascio Bolling. Dale is survived by his sister Donna Lee York of Baton Rouge, LA and his brother Tillman Earl Jones, Jr. (Joanna) of Port Barre, LA. Dale was brother-in-law to John and Colleen Bolling of Bush, LA, Michael and Alison Fisse of Mandeville, LA, McCaleb and Nora Bilbro of New Orleans, LA, and Gregory and Nancy Roussel of Mandeville, LA. Dale is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Dale was born in Baton Rouge, LA and raised in Melville, LA. Dale attended Melville High School and graduated from Chamberlin Hunt Academy in Port Gibson, MS in 1971. Dale was a 1977 graduate of Louisiana State University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. Dale delayed his college education at LSU while he served in the Louisiana National Guard. After graduating from LSU, he worked for the New Orleans Jazz Basketball franchise, Tulane University Athletic Department, First Homestead Savings Bank, and spent the last 25 years of his career in medical sales.

Dale played sports throughout his childhood and high school years and was passionate about Louisiana sports. Dale was an avid golfer and enjoyed volunteering his time coaching his son’s sports teams. Dale worked as a statistician for the New Orleans Saints radio broadcast team, and his love of golf led him to working at the TPC Louisiana golf club. Dale was the ultimate storyteller and loved sharing stories with visitors of the golf club, as well as his family and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, LA on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at 12:00 Noon. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until service time. Burial will be private.
