Curtis Hiram Bailey

Curtis Hiram Bailey passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023. Curtis was born on July 11, 1930 to his late parents; Carmen Bailey and William (Bill) Bailey. Curtis attended St. Anthony of Padua Grammar School, S. J. Peters High School, The University of Miami, and Tulane University. He was a devout Christian and a member of the Catholic Church. He assisted in organizing and becoming a partner in two independent insurance agencies; Bailey-Engelhardt & Vega and Bailey-Vega & Posecai. He served on many advisory boards for regional and national insurance companies representing the interests of the independent agents. Curtis was one of the founders of the Terrytown Volunteer Fire Department and proudly held badge #1. He loved to participate and help direct musicals for charitable and non-profit organization fund raisers. He loved to play sports and was active in The Pelican Point Golf Club until his passing.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Earlene Heller Bailey and his brother; John Lewis Bailey.

He is survived by his son; Russell J. Bailey, two grandchildren; Kacie M. Bailey and Ryan J. Bailey, and his brother; Donald R. Bailey.

A private ceremony will be held in his honor for close friends and family.
