Craig Crawford Martin, Sr.

Craig Crawford Martin, Sr. born February 26, 1949 passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at the age of 74. He graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans. He served two years active duty in the Naval Air Reserve at the Jacksonville Air Base and six years with the Reserve at the Naval Base in Belle Chase, LA. Craig was a self-employed contractor for most of his life. He built and renovated many homes in the New Orleans area. He also very much enjoyed beach vacations with his family in Navarre Beach and Rosemary Beach in Florida. Craig was very proud of and loved his children and grandchildren above all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marius and Jacqueline Martin; sister, Pamela Martin; uncles, Father Donald J. Martin, S.J. and Earl Martin, Jr. He is survived by his loving children, Dr. Erin Martin Dugan (Brady), Craig Crawford Martin, Jr. (Kerry Backsen), Capt. Ryan Bosworth Martin (Meghan); grandchildren, Eileen Dugan, Patrick Dugan, William Martin, and Olive Martin; sister, Lynn Martin Johnston (Paul); brother, Mark Martin (Laurence). A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd New Orleans, LA 70124. Family and friends are invited to the visitation beginning at 10:00AM until 12:00PM. A private burial will follow thereafter. The Martin family requests donations be sent to The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation in lieu of flowers.
