Constance Fontenot

Constance “Connie” Green Fontenot passed away peacefully on August 20, 2017. Connie is survived by her husband Francis Fontenot, her two sons Henry A Marquez (Melinda) and Scott M. Marquez (Belinda), Her mother-in-law Rose Fontenot, two daughters Rose Fontenot and Sabrina Whitfield; her sister, Catherine G. Herdman, her brother Robert J. Green, her Grandchildren, Gabrielle, Dante, Bailey, Chaz, Emily, Rebecca, and Mariah Marquez, as well as several more grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother Catherine F. Green, father, Clayton E. Green, Sr., brother, Clayton E. Green, Jr., and Father in law Chester Fontenot. Connie was born and raised in New Orleans where she attended Incarnate Word Catholic School and graduated from Cabrini High School. Connie was a long-time resident of St. Bernard Parish where she worked as a manager for Walgreens, Co. Connie was a member of the High Praise Fellowship Church. Connie enjoyed much of the New Orleans culture, especially the New Orleans Saints and Mardi Gras. Connie was a member of several Mardi Gras organizations over the years. Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans. Visitation will be held prior to the service and will begin at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow the funeral service at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
