Clifford George Stumpf Jr., age 87, was called home by his Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 14th, 2021. He was born in New Orleans, LA on July 18th,1934 to Clifford and Alice Stumpf. He spent most of his life operating a family-owned business, Stumpf’s IGA, alongside his brothers and sister until Hurricane Katrina devastated the area. At that time, Belle Chasse, LA became his home. Clifford was a devoted father to 5 children who he is survived by; his son, Clifford Stumpf III (Dawn) and Daughters; Debra Stumpf Rhodes (Phil), Donna Stumpf Clark, Gwendolyn Stumpf, and Gail Stumpf Dunn (Ray). He was a proud and loving grandfather of Danielle Bowles (Derek), Christopher Rhodes, Stephanie Rhodes, Dawn Young (Adam), and David Clark (Jessica). His true pride and joy were his great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Madyn, Braylen, Roman and Parker. He is also survived by his brothers, Kenneth, Wayne, and Rodney Stumpf and their spouses and his sister-in-law Mary Lynn. Clifford is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife-Margie Coludrovich Stumpf, his brother Dennis Stumpf and sister, Marlene Stumpf Richards. He is also survived by many other family and friends. Clifford loved spending time with family and looked forward to celebrating every holiday and birthday, especially Christmas. He always made sure Christmas was extra magical for the kids by drawing Santa’s footprints and sleigh marks in the grass and fake snow. He never met a stranger and will be missed by many.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Sunday October 24, 2021 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. at 10:00 am. Visitation will begin at 09:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery.
