He was preceded in death by his step-son, Marcel Briley . Clarence Simmons III served his country as a solider in the United States Army during the time of the Vietnam War. He was praised for his excellent marksman-ship, friendly demeanor, being hilarious, and his mischievous attitude. He often enjoyed sports, especially football, he was a New Orleans Saints fan. Throughout his life he served as deputy sheriff in Orleans Parish and was also employed by the Veterans Hospital in New Orleans. He will be missed for his funny but often snarky attitude, sound advice, and loving but straightforward nature. He was a strong rock to lean on and a good person. He was the best brother anyone could have along with being a great father and husband. His fountain of wisdom leaves us with more than just memories of a fun and loving man. He leaves us with the spirit of a person with a good heart who soul is at peace. Clarence Simmons III may be gone but his spirit will never be forgotten, nor will the lessons he taught along the way. You will be missed and loved by family and friends always. Rest in Peace and Happiness. The family invites you to share fond memories and condolences online at www.lakelawnmetairie.com.
