Cheryl Vivien French passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022, at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late Ollie Joseph French, Jr., for 62 years. Loving mother of Bryan Paul French (Diane), Stuart James French, Cristyn French Price (Kerry), and the late Ollie Joseph French, III (Barbara); grandmother of Christopher Paul French, Lauren French Tran (Nicholas), Andrew Stuart French, Ryan Matthew French, Kelly Ann French, Logan Matthew Price, Brandt Michael Price, and the late Nicholas James French; great grandmother of Mason Nicholas French; siblings Harold P. Vivien, Jr. (Lois), Marilyn Vivien Lopiccolo (late Natale), and Janet Vivien; and she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her son and parents Corinne Gauthreaux Vivien and Harold Pierre Vivien, Sr.
Cheryl was born and raised in New Orleans, and was a resident of Metairie for 62 years. She graduated from Academy of Sacred Heart in 1955. Cheryl was a devoted mother and after her children were raised, she went on to become a preschool teacher assistant at St. Ann School. She was a charter and faithful parishioner of St. Ann's Church and Shrine, where she was an extraordinary minister, sacristan and a member of the Altar Society. She enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, crocheting, cooking, and traveling with her family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Thursday, December 15 2022 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and then again on Friday, December 16, 2022 beginning at 11:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm. A private interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Cheryl’s memory to St. Ann Church and Shrine.
