Charles Rosen, II

Charles Rosen, II, born in New Orleans to Louis Leucht Rosen and Nita Silverstein Rosen. Charles served in the US Army and following his honorable discharge earned a BA from Tulane University in 1948 and then went on to earn a JD from Tulane School of Law. He was a recipient of the Moot Court Competition. Charles was a prominent local attorney and was a member of the law firm of Rosen, Kammer, Wolff, Hopkins and Burke from 1951 to 1955, and subsequently at Jones Walker from 1955 to 1990. He was of counsel at Sullivan, Stollier and Resor until 2005. Charles was a member of the Louisiana, New Orleans, and American Bar Association and was elected to the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and the Anglo American Real Property Institute. He served as the chairman of the local division of the United Fund and the Jewish Welfare Fund and also as board member of Touro Infirmary and Touro Synagogue; as well as serving on the board of the New Orleans Golf Association, Lakewood Country Club, Southern Golf Association and the Tulane Green Wave Club and chairman of Fore Kids’ Foundation. He was a Three time New Orleans City golf champion and represented the United States as a member of the Maccabiah Golf Team in 1961 and 1965. He was one of the original owners of the New Orleans Saints. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and brother Edward Rosen. He is survived by his loving wife Emily Hart Rosen; children Charles Rosen, III, Virginia “Ginger” Graf Ringer (Bill), Jane Rosen, James Louis “Jimmy” Rosen (Tillie); grandchildren Stephanie, Wesley, Oliver, and Katie. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Fore Kids Foundation.
