Charles Fuller Morgan passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at the age of 59. He was born in New Orleans, however, Charles’s family moved to Slidell, where his early education began, followed by St. Stanislaus High School in Mississippi, and Huntingdon College in Alabama. As his life journey began on the road less traveled, he worked briefly as a paralegal, before moving into Service Industry sales in New Orleans, where he lived until his death. Charles was a member of the Episcopal Church. Charles’s favorite avocation was writing, especially poetry (pen name Sulla). He was a lifelong independent free thinker and student of history and philosophy. He loved his family, friends, and all things New Orleans. Charles was an empath with a generous heart, ever seeking truth, and personifying peace and love. He is preceded in death by his father, Sheldon Lamar Morgan, Jr; his step-father, Svein Andreas Torbergsen; his favorite uncle, Dr. Al Brann; great-aunt, Cecile Costley Stone; and Godmother, Anne Porteous Vickery. Charles is survived by his partner, Sofia Lafleur; his mother, Cecile Costley Morgan Torbergsen; his aunt Peggy Costley Brann; cousins, Will Brann, Stewart Brann, Fran Jackson, and Bill Merriman; Godbrother, Bill Vickery; Godbrother, Tommy Chiocchio; and numerous other cousins and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to Carole Pindaro, N.P., for many years of compassionate oversight of Charles’s health. Family and friends are invited to attend services for Charles on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Visitation will be at The Board Room of Trinity Episcopal Church New Orleans, (Coliseum Street entrance) from 10 AM until the service begins inside The Chapel of Trinity Episcopal Church (Coliseum Street entrance), 11 AM. At a later date, Charles’s ashes will be interred in the Vigil Garden of Christ Episcopal Church in Slidell. Services will be officiated by The Rev. John Pitzer; Committal service: The Rev. Harry Jenkins.
