Catherine Turcotte Perez

Catherine Turcotte Perez, 63, entered into eternal rest on August 1, 2016 in Covington, LA, after battling Ovarian Cancer for the last eight months. She was a native of New Orleans. Catherine graduated from Mt. Carmel Academy and the University of New Orleans where she earned her Master’s Degree in Special Education. She was at the forefront of organizing multiple creative programs and head of fundraising for special needs clients at Magnolia School. Additionally, she had multiple careers and hobbies which included Marketing Director for Eye Care Associates, Developer for Crescent Land Development, and was an avid horse enthusiast. Although she was passionate about these things, her main joy in life was her grandchildren who she loved and cherished with all her heart. Catherine is survived by her devoted husband of 43 years, William Perez, M.D; beloved children, Matthew (Sarah), Brandon, Damien, and Kristen Keller (Beau); adored grandchildren, Emile Perez, Lily Perez, Brayden, Parker, and Hadley Keller. She is also survived by her mother Joan Turcotte-Dodd and brother Gary “Rusty” Turcotte, Jr. She is preceded in death by her father Gary Turcotte, Sr. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery. Visitation will take place prior to the service beginning at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Magnolia School, 100 Central Ave, Jefferson, LA 70121 or the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org/donate.
