Louise Carroll Bruns Hebert, wife of the late Joseph D. “J.D.” Hebert, Jr., passed away peacefully at her home with family at the age of 93. Carroll, born in New Orleans on September 28, 1928, was a longtime resident and since Katrina lived in Slidell, at the home of her daughter Anna Louise Hebert Howard.
Carroll was a graduate of Holy Name High School and Loyola University of New Orleans. After her marriage to J.D. she worked as medical technologist until her first child, Joseph D. “Jay” Hebert, III, was born. After her children were in high school, Carroll learned to be a tax preparer and taught herself bookkeeping and worked for numerous years until her retirement from Raintree Essix.
Carroll is survived by her daughter, Louise, and son, Jay (Melanie). She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Christopher “Chris” Howard (Sabrina), Carroll Ruth Howard, Joseph D. “Jack” Hebert, IV, Marguerite Elizabeth Hebert, Michelle Monnot Howard, Amelie Elaine Hebert and her great-grandchildren, Miles Howard and Madeline Howard. Daughter of the late John Henry Bruns, III and Odette Monnot Bruns, sister of the late Mary Heloise Fox, Odette Thomas Stewart, John Henry Bruns, IV, Joseph Supple Bruns and Mary Genevieve Bruns. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relative and friends are invited to celebrate Carroll’s wonderful life at Lake Lawn Funeral Home and Cemeteries at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, La. with a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. on June 20, 2022. Visitation is from 9:00 to 11:00 at Lake Lawn. Private interment at Lake Lawn.
Carroll’s family is very grateful for the loving care provided to her by Patsy Dawson, Toni Robinson, Patrice Davis and Rhonda Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carroll’s memory to American Alzheimer's Association or Children’s Hospital New Orleans.
