Carolyn Fletcher Jung

Carolyn Fletcher Jung passed away in Dallas, TX on October 26, 2014 at the age of 92. She is survived by her children, Walter J. Jung III (Cindy) and Susan Lambert Workman (Michael ), grandchildren, Walter J. Jung IV (Tresha), Danner Broussard (Michael), Christy McAlister (Rob), Lacey McKnight (Frank) and William Taylor Jung. Also, Carolyn was blessed with nine great grandchildren, Guy, McClain and Bennett Jung, Alexis and Lauren Broussard, Caroline and Jake McAlister, Isabelle and Lily Grace McKnight. Carolyn had been living in the Sunrise Assisted Living facility in Dallas for the past fourteen months. Carolyn was born and raised in New Orleans and graduated from Newman High School. She attended LSU for two years before working for the Census Bureau during World War II. Carolyn was married to Walter J. Jung, Jr. and raised her two children. Carolyn’s greatest love was being a mother and interacting with her children’s contemporaries. She had a long, fulfilling life, filled with accomplishments and good friends. She went back to college when she was in her 60’s and got her undergraduate from Loyola and graduate degree in Social Work from Tulane University. During her time in college and after, Carolyn touched many lives with her devotion to help people and families. Carolyn practiced her trade until she moved to Dallas in 2013. A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME in Metairie Cemetery at 11:00 AM on November 28, 2014. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until time of service. Inurnment to follow in Metairie Cemetery.
