Carolyn Leddy Goodwyne, born on July 21, 1938, departed the life she enjoyed so much on the early morning of October 22, 2023, at her home in Diamondhead, Mississippi. She placed her mark in life for 85 years and will be sadly missed by all those she touched with her presence in life. She was the devoted and beloved wife of James Philip Goodwyne for 67 years. She was the daughter of the late Julia Laurent Leddy and the late Joseph Eldred Leddy, sister of Jean Zitzmann (Charles), the late Eldra (Vickie) Laird, Judith "Judy" Imbornone (Charles), and Cheryl Puissegur (Louis). They comprised the “Leddy Girls”. Always having fun and enjoying each other’s company, whether at family events, casino gatherings, or trips together.
Carolyn’s life began in New Orleans, where she attended Incarnate Word and graduated Valedictorian of her class receiving a full scholarship to attend the Academy of Holy Angels in New Orleans, where she was a cheerleader and an exemplary student. She graduated in 1956 and embarked with her life journey with her husband James. Carolyn began her work journey as a secretary for Halpern’s Furniture Company while her husband was hard at work at Kaiser Aluminum. They ended up as a team building homes and developing rental property in Chalmette where they lived for 45 years. In the process, they had their son, Jeffrey, and daughter, Kimberly. Throughout the years, they built a successful business which enabled them to enjoy their friends and family. Carolyn enjoyed travel to various places, here and abroad, getting together for card parties with her family and friends, participating in Garden Club activities, and having fun in Vegas, and playing Poker! She also played the part of country girl on their property in Poplarville, Mississippi. She lived life to the fullest.
She is survived by her husband, James Philip Goodwyne, her son Jeffrey Goodwyne (Sherry), her daughter Kimberly Nath (Gabe), and six grandchildren: Brittany Felps (Glenn), Candace Quinn (Tyler), Courtney Hoover (Russ), Eric Nath, Travis Goodwyne (Angelle), and Brandon Nath. And her ten great-grandchildren: Rowan and Everett Felps, Caroline, Georgia, Eleanor and John Philip "JP" Quinn, Russ, Riley and Reagan Hoover, and Luke Goodwyne. “Gram”, as she was affectionately called, adored them all!
