Bonnie Torres Gurtner

Bonnie is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Tommy Gurtner; her two daughters, Kristen Gurtner (Mark Johnson) and Mallory Barton (Zack); her three grandchildren, Caroline Barton, Max Johnson, and Reese Johnson; her sister, Lori Riddick (Robert); and her brother, Larry Torres (Patrice). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Juanita Lott Torres.

Bonnie was born in Baton Rouge on January 24, 1960. She was a teacher for 35 years, and educated children in schools around the world. Bonnie’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her cherished grandchildren, family, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 2:00PM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 12:00PM.
