Barbara Brehm Calongne passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014 at the age of 78. Beloved wife of Joseph Gayle Calongne, Sr. for 58 years. Mother of Julie Calongne (Marty), Leslie Calongne, Joel Calongne (Joy), and Chris Calongne (Lisa). Sister of Alice Brehm Saucier (the late James), and Milton L. “Jack” Brehm, Jr. Daughter of the late Milton L. Brehm, Sr. and Celine Schmidt Brehm. Grandmother of Brent (Amy), Bridget, Michael, and Kayla Calongne, and Kimberly Calongne Tara (Chance). Sister-in-law of Gerry Feugas (the late Leon), Gwen Weidig (Walter), George Cire Calongne (Gladys), Wanda Henry (R.J.), Gaynell Leonard (Sidney), Georgette Sloan (Terry), and the late Sr. Mary Bonaventure, O.P. and William E. Gilthorpe, Sr.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 9:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred.
