August “Gus” E. Neyrey, Jr. passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2015. He was 83 years old. Beloved husband for 49 years to Anne Maspero Neyrey. Loving father of Deanne Neyrey, August E. Neyrey III (Michelle), Christopher Neyrey (Erinn), and Troy Neyrey (Danielle). Grandfather of Haley, Ean, Griffin, and Beckett Neyrey. Brother of Robert Neyrey (Hilda). He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Olga Rosiere Neyrey. Gus was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 267, and was a Fourth Degree Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a parishioner of Divine Mercy, and a past parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 1:00PM. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 11:00AM.
