Anthony was a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Jesuit High School of New Orleans and was preparing to graduate from LSU with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Extremely intelligent, always wanting to keep his mind engaged, working one problem or another. Anthony was in constant desire to pursue his passion for higher mathematics.
Growing up, Anthony was a protector to all he loved and lover of all things living. And when he left us, he left us fighting. Fighting to overcome an enemy which proved too powerful, but fighting until the end, so he could stay with those he loved as the person he knew they, and he, most wanted him to be, unclouded by any negative influence at all. He will remain through us forever that rare sort of person: one we most wish others could have known. In his painful journey away from addiction he helped change the direction of countless lives through his guidance, encouragement and support. As a keen judge of character and personality he knew how to be a loyal friend to fellow sufferers and how to guide them to healing. He will be remembered as a selfless young man, never needing much and offering all he had. His mother, father, sister and family will forever be proud of him.
Anthony is preceded in death by his uncle, Carmine Castaldo; aunt, Carmen Wible; grandmother, Jacquelyn Murray; and great-grandmothers, Bertha Gonzales and Julia Leyba.
He is survived by his parents, Lee and Debra Cucchiara; sister, Claudia Cucchiara. He is also survived by his grandparents: Reyes and Maria Elena Garcia and Chuck and Lorraine Cucchiara; aunts and uncles: Jill and husband Bob Patterson; Jason and Missy Murray; Reyes Garcia III; and Christina and Matt Weisser; cousins: Gennaro and Rosa Castaldo; Parker and Addison Murray; Reyes IV and Miranda Garcia; Roy Chapa and Olivia and Noah Weisser.
