Anthony “Tony” J. Cefalu, Jr., a resident of St. Bernard for 49 years, passed away on the afternoon of Monday, August 10, 2020. Anthony was born on February 22, 1942 in New Orleans to Anthony J. Cefalu, Sr. and Josephine Cefalu. He is known for being a loving, faithful, and loyal man who loved God with all of his heart. His family and friends were a treasure to him.
Anthony is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Josephine Cefalu, and his wife, Dolores Ann Digby Cefalu.
Anthony is survived by: his dear wife, Ethel Mae Cefalu; his children, Donna C. Brousse (Louis N. Brousse III), Anthony J. Cefalu, III (Jennifer Cefalu), Sherri Bailey (Louis J. Bailey, Sr.), David Cefalu (Rebekah Cefalu); his daughters-in-law, Donna M. Hotard (Bryan) and Kelly Sanzone; his grandchildren, Donna M. Cuccia, Lindsay C. Battaglia, Louis J. Bailey, Jr., Hayley E. Cefalu, and Jenna Cefalu; his grandchildren-in-law, Ashley Sanzone, Kacey Mills, and Makayla Brousse; his great-grandchildren, Joshua, Bella, Baby Wayne, Lily, Mia, Suri, Liam, Isla, and Olivia; his sister, Diane J. Tekippe (Dr. Vincent J. Tekippe); and many loving nieces and nephews.
A visitation and celebration of life will be held privately with Pastor Chuck Constance officiating. He will be laid to rest in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Due to Covid-related restrictions, family visitation is limited to 25 in attendance.
