Anthony Dominick Bonura passed away peacefully at his home early in the morning on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at the age of 79 years old. He was born on February 6, 1942 to Anthony Frank Bonura and Rose Orlando Bonura. Anthony was a lifelong resident of the New Orleans area. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Morovich Bonura; his three children, Brian Anthony Bonura, Mark Morovich Bonura, and Keith Michael Bonura; his grandson Alexander S. Bonura (wife Marleigh); and Rodney A. Virgadamo, who was like another son. He is also survived by his two brothers, Peter Charles Bonura (wife Angie) and Dominick Frank Bonura (wife Lynda) and a host of nieces and nephews. Anthony was a machinist at Industrial Maintenance, Inc. and Prager, Inc. for over 40 years. From 1963 to 1968 he served in the Louisiana National Guard. He was an avid churchgoer at Holy Rosary, St. Louis King of France, and St. Philip of Neri Churches. Being with and doing things with family and friends is what Anthony loved most of all. Anthony especially enjoyed making Italian fig cookies and seed cookies for friends and family for St. Joseph’s Day and Christmas. Sunday dinners and time spent with family and friends were also an important part of his life; Anthony would prepare meals at which all were welcomed and if you left hungry, it was your own fault. He also loved oldies music, gardening, watching sports with his boys and classic movies with his wife.
To know Anthony was to love him, and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
