Anne Schmidt Young

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert J. Young Jr.; her parents, Marguerite Tracy and G. Adolph Schmidt; and her siblings, G. Adolph Schmidt Jr., Mary Margaret S McMillan, Theodore A. Schmidt, Norbert E. Schmidt, and Regina S. Nugon.

Anne is survived by her four children, Marguerite Y. Kock (Jimmy), Robert J. Young, III (Katherine), Michael G. Young (Carlette) and Timothy J. Young (Helen); as well as four grandchildren, Anne S. Kock, E. James Kock IV, George Smith and Julia T. Smith. She is also survived by her brother, Michael J. Schmidt (Phyllis) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Anne was born on March 30, 1935 in Pass Christian, Mississippi. She graduated from Louisiana State University, where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority.

Anne was a lifelong parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus as well as a life member of the Orleans Club. She enjoyed volunteering at the Adoration Chapel at Holy Name of Jesus and as a tutor with the Start the Adventure in reading (STAIR) Program. Anne loved spending time with family and friends in Pass Christian. She cherished her special bond with her Pi Phi Sisters.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Monday September 12, 2022 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans.
