Anna Marie Chenevert Olivier, age 87, passed away peacefully at her home in Saint Rose on Wednesday, December 6, 2017. She is survived by her husband of almost 62 years, Gerald “Jerry” Olivier; her daughters, Karen O. Willingham (Curtis), Cheryl O. Gautreaux (Trent), and Debra O. Dalmé (Gary); grandchildren, David Willingham (Maria), Alisha Morris, Jean-Luc Gautreaux, and Amanda, Gary, Jr., and Scott Dalmé; her great-grandchildren; her sister, Sr. Juanita Chenevert, D.C.; brother, John James Chenevert; her two sisters-in-law, multiple nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice Haydel Chenevert and John Wayne Chenevert; and her sister, Jenny Leah C. Spizale. Anna was born on January 4, 1930 in Plaucheville, Louisiana. She attended Mater Dolorosa Elementary School in New Orleans and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in New Orleans. Her career expanded over numerous companies including, Motion Picture Advertising, Chrysler, Commodity Credit, IBM, and GM Cheverolet. She was involved in many organizations, Women’s International Bowling Congress, Bleu Raeders Drum and Bugle Corps, Regiment Militare Drum and Bugle Corps, and Louisiana Southernaires Drum and Bugle Corps. Anna was highly involved in music education, volunteering since 1981 at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. She was a drum corps mom for over 40 years. Anna was inducted into the Louisiana Drum and Bugle Corps Hall of Fame in 2011 by the Greater New Orleans Drum Corps Association. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed all types of needlework. She also enjoyed many other hobbies including reading and ceramics. Anna was a long time parishioner of St. Matthew the Apostle Church in River Ridge, Louisiana. Anna truly loved spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived a very faith-filled life. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home. There will be an evening visitation on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 5-8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday beginning at 8:30 a.m. Interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
