Anna Mae Guidry Labatut, age 91, passed away December 4, 2014. She was a loving, strong and courageous woman, devout in her Catholic faith. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, AJ Labatut Jr; Arthur Joseph Labatut III, her son; and parents, Stella Rosselli Guidry and Henry Guidry, Sr and brother Ernest Guidry. Ann was a native of New Orleans born on September 7, 1923. She grew up in New York City, returning to New Orleans in the early 1940’s with her parents and 6 siblings. In 1946, Ann and AJ Labatut were married. In the 1950’s, they moved to Pines Village where she and AJ were active in the new parish of Immaculate Heart of Mary. Survivors include : Lois Labatut Karno (Louis ); Elaine Labatut Lamb (Dorian); Ann Labatut; Janet Labatut Davies; Phyllis Labatut Baker (Burt); 10 grandchildren, Michele Hebert; Elizabeth Mayers Addington; Andriana Lamb Morris; Dorian Lamb; Jennifer Clesi Downing; Laura Clesi Brown; Daniel Baker; Grace Baker; Lydia Labatut Davies; Gloria Labatut Davies and 9 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Marie Windham, Shirley Sperier, Florence Ertel; and brothers, Henry Guidry and Ronald Guidry. She was an accomplished seamstress and cook, a marvelous hostess and a favorite godmother and aunt to many nieces and nephews.
