Ann Rodrigue Dotson was born on October 21, 1939 and passed away July 19, 2021. A native of Montz, LA she moved after a few years to St. Bernard Parish where she met her husband and raised a family. She was married to James H. Dotson, Sr. for 66 years. Together they had three children, James H. Dotson, Jr. (Janet), Barry J. Dotson (Donna), and Stephanie Dotson Luckow (Hank). She was a founding member of what is now known as World Prayer Tabernacle Church. In the very early days of the church, she served as pianist, treasurer, and a faithful member. At home, she was a loving mother, a terrific seamstress, and one who loved to travel. She was active in the TOPS organization and the St. Bernard Chit Chat Homemakers Club. She was an avid Saints, Pelicans, and LSU Tigers fan. Twenty years ago, she and her husband moved to Mandeville to be closer to their children. Once there, she became a faithful member of Church Of The King. Ann was a loving grandmother to five grandchildren, Lindsey Dotson Avitia (Jonathan, dec.), Drew Dotson, Meredith Dotson Burst (Shawn), Quinn Dotson (Kaitlyn), and James “Jay” Dotson, III (Megan). She also had four great-grandchildren, Hadley Burst, Anderson Burst, Presley Burst, and James “Jett” Dotson, IV. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Rodrigue and Lavine Chaisson Rodrigue, her siblings Schubert Deslatte, Aline Tabor, Joseph Rodrigue, Jr., Francis Rodrigue, Hardie Rodrigue, and Bruce Rodrigue. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff of Lakeside Hospital, Heritage Manor of Mandeville, and St. Catherine’s Hospice for their compassionate care. Services will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a service celebrating her life beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
