Mrs. Althea Ovella

Althea Ulmer Ovella passed away at her home, on Sunday, February 15, 2015, age 81. Beloved wife of the late Salvatore “Sam” S. Ovella, Jr. Mother of Dominic J. Ovella (Kathy) and Salvatore “Sam” S. Ovella, III (Kecia). Preceded in death by her parents Dorothy Kenney Ulmer and Eugene J. Ulmer, Sr. Sister of Eugene J. Ulmer, Jr. (Melanie). Grandmother of John, Jordan, Jennifer, Taylor, Gabrielle, Sam, IV and Victoria Ovella. Also survived by her brother’s children, Eugene J. Ulmer, III and Michelle Ulmer Kolb. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and a sister in law. The family wants to give special thanks to her, caregivers, Janice Jackson, Brandi Smith and Sandra Thomas, who she referred to as her “Day and Night Daughters”. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11:00 am.
