Alma Rose Heikamp Crawford

Alma Rose Heikamp Crawford passed away peacefully at her home in Metairie, Louisiana on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the age of 87. Alma was born to the late Henry William Heikamp and Alma Cook Heikamp and she is also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, John Dee Crawford, Jr.; her son, Patrick Dennis Crawford; her daughter, Arlene Crawford Blount; and her brother, George Henry Heikamp.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Crawford Bullock; grandchildren, Christian (Ashley) and Cody (Nicole) Crawford, Casie (Dolph) Federico and Ricky Blount; her great-grandchildren, Beau and Caroline Crawford, Raymond Crawford, Griffin, Fletcher and Becker Federico; sisters, Fay Heikamp Davis and Elma Heikamp Carter; and her daughter-in-law, Susan Crawford; and her partner, Anthony Todaro Sr.

Alma enjoyed gardening and loved to travel, especially with her RV in her later years. She was a devout parishioner of St. Catherine Siena Church and member of Pioneers and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude her caregivers, Cristle Ruffin, Tammy McIntyre and Pam Lynch; and to Hearts of Hospice.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass to be held in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124 on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
