Allen C. Miller

Allen C. Miller passed away on January 9, 2016. Allen is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ellen Miller. His children, Michelle Miller Campbell (Steve), Alberto Delcid and Peter Lowry (Jessica); grandchildren, Hope and Kai Lowry; his best friend, Craig Cheramie; his siblings, Marti Benning, Matt Miller, Moyna Thompson and Maureen Maturo. He is preceded in death by his father, Oliver C. Miller and mother, Mary Ann Havener Miller and his sister, Marlys (Katie) Hoxsey. Allen worked for National Oil Well for over 25 years. He was a lifetime participant and patron of the Arts attending local and national theater. He was an avid reader and a lover of fantasy and science fiction. Allen was also a supporter of many LGBT charities. He was a loving and kind man; always willing to go the extra mile for those in need. He was loved by many and known as “Dad” to a multitude of people. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation and Celebration of Life on Friday, January 29, 2016 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The memorial service will begin at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Allen’s honor to Food for Friends at www.noaidstaskforce.org/ways-to-donate/
