Alison Stacy Walsh passed away, after a life well lived on November 2, 2015. She was born on Cinqo de Mayo, 1934, in New Orleans. Alison was preceded in her death by her parents, Lois Gravois Stacy and Edwin Frederick Stacy, Sr, and, two sisters, Brenda Stacy Borges and Carolyn Guthrie Barella. She is survived by her beautiful children, Nancy Walsh Isaac (Kyle Isaac) of Denver, William Bennett Walsh of New Hampshire, and Corey Cantwell Walsh of New Orleans. Alison is also survived by three beautiful grandchildren, Katy and Jeremy Isaac, and Jackson Walsh, and a ton of beloved nieces and nephews of the Borges, Stacy, and Guthrie clans, who have all been like her own children. Alison is also survived by her beloved brother, Edwin F Stacy and his wife, Phyllis.
Alison, after attending Newcomb College, worked in New York City, in the advertising business. In marrying William Charles Walsh, of New Hampshire, she moved to New Hampshire, became a mother to three great kids, played a lot of tennis, and was the women’s tennis coach at The New Hampton School. After moving to back to New Orleans in 1978, she was involved in television and film work for a time. She then started a twenty year tenure at Tulane University, as the Director of the Alumni Travel Program, sending alumni and friends around the world. Alison also had the opportunity to see most of the world herself!
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Lake Lawn Funeral Home 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 3:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers donation may be made in her name to the SPCA or Newcomb Endowment Fund, Tulane University, P. O. Box 61075, New Orleans, LA 70161-9986.
