Alice May Breath Bourgeois

Alice May Bourgeois passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at the age of 90. A resident of Harahan for over 60 years, she was the beloved wife of the late CMDR William Ariesthide Bourgeois, USN ret. Loving mother of Donald Edward Bourgeois (Isabel) of Slidell, LA., Diane Lynn Clark (Michael) of Harahan, LA., and Jason Paul Bourgeois (Michele) of Harahan, LA. Daughter of Mildred “Donna” Meade Breath and Harry Stewart Breath of New Orleans, LA. Sister of the late Gilbert J. Breath of Metairie, LA., Eugene T. Breath of Lafayette, LA. and Gerard O. Breath of Metairie, LA. Grandmother of Carolyn K Miller (Wayne), Bailey Juliette Bourgeois and Desmond Aristide Bourgeois. Great grandmother of Lillian Marie Miller and Lucas Joseph Miller.

A consummate cook and gracious host, she always enjoyed entertaining and decorating for the holidays, creating lifelong memories for family and friends. Her holiday meals were rivaled only by her cheerful exuberance. She made many enduring friendships in her Harahan neighborhood, and was always happy to open her home as a perennial meeting place for family and friends.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend the funeral and visitation. A Funeral Mass will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA. 70124, on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with a visitation on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
