Vincent James Onorato

Mr. Onorato was born on September 25, 1928 in Groton, CT to Louis Onorato and Pauline Tierno. He was a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy. He was proud to be a pharmacist. He was co-founder of Ocean Pharmacy on Ocean Ave. in New London and he also worked for numerous other pharmacies in the area.

Mr. Onorato coached both minor league baseball as well as basketball and was a mentor to many in the community.

Mr. Onorato is survived by his wife, Joanne C. Onorato (Drea) of New London; son Brandt Onorato and wife Christine Becotte of Keene, NH; Sisters Marie Costello of Groton and Jenette Schick of Puoghquag, NY; nieces Lisa Delgrosso-Costello of Groton and Laurie Schick-Schneider of Hartford; nephews David Costello of Groton and Jeffrey Schick of Upper Saddle River, NJ. He is predeceased by his son, Douglas J. Onorato.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, New London. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Visiting Nurses Assoc. of Southeastern Connecticut, 403 North Frontage Rd. Waterford, CT 06385.
