Mr. Rodriguez was born on May 29, 1934 in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico. A Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Army and a native of Puerto Rico, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1951. Upon his completion of service to his country, he then returned to Puerto Rico and married Josefina Santiago Rodriguez, his wife of 28 years and started his family. In 1976, he moved his family to Miami, Florida in order to provide his family with better opportunities. He finally settled in Longwood, Florida in 1979 where he continued to raise his family. He resided in Longwood for 36 years where his wife took care of him until her illness, at such time where the roles were reversed.
Mr. Rodriguez was a constant supporter of family and friends. He would think nothing of assisting others at the drop of a hat in order to make sure that their needs were met above and beyond. His generosity was infectious and made others feel welcome and at home. He enjoyed spending his spare time dancing and singing Johnny Cash and spending time with his children and grandchildren. We will always remember Saturday Nights in the Rodriguez home watching “Sabado Gigante”.
Mr Rodriguez is survived by his children Mabel, Yancer, Elliott, Yamyl, John and 9 grandchildren.
