Leia Mary Brown

Leia was born on April 1, 1938 in Augusta, ME to Lawrence and Bertha Bowman.

Leia worked at Bayview Health Care as well as for the Waterford School System.

Leia is survived by her; daughters Susan Coon (Charlie) of Uncasville, Shirley Bennett of Oakdale, Harriet Hatfield (Bobby) of Waterford, Debbie Cortez of Maine; sons Frank Brown (Sue) of Griswold, Robert Brown (Tricia) of Oakdale, James Brown (Kelly) of Oakdale; brothers Thomas Bowman of Maine, Norman Bowman of Utah; sisters Katherine Witham of Maine, Nancy Baysic Of Tennessee, Joanne Haight of New London, Sally Bowman of Tennessee, Marion Knight of Maine as well as 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Addison E. Brown Jr; brothers Lawrence Bowman Jr. and Richard Bowman as well as her granddaughter, Mandy Lynn Bennett-Baird.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 6 until 8 PM at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 181 Ocean Ave. New London, CT 06320. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 10AM in the funeral home, followed by burial at Jordan Cemetery, Waterford.
