Henrietta Ploszaj

She was born on January 10, 1922 to Myrtis (Garrell) and Arthur Carlson in East Moriches, L.I., New York. She attended schools in Eastport, New York and graduated there in 1939. She married Frank Ploszaj in June of 1962. He predeceased her in 1984.

She is survived by her daughters, Therese J. LaVoie (Doue) of Windham, Kathleen A. Pemberton of Waterford, Marjorie I. Kuhl (Ron) of Gales Ferry and Melissa A. Madore (Rich) of Waterford. She was also predeceased by her two sons William and James. She is survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren and was predeceased by a great granddaughter.

Nina was employed for 25 years by the State of Connecticut. In her retirement she enjoyed her plants, her various dogs, hiking Connecticut’s local trails with several groups and her kitties.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being made by Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home in New London. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Southeastern CT, 227 Dunham St., Norwich, CT 06360.
