Mrs. Neal was born on January 16, 1921 in Philadelphia, PA the daughter of George and Florence Gibson. She married Raymond Theodore Neal on December 25, 1942 in Philadelphia, and was a devoted wife and mother.
Mrs. Neal attended schools in South Philadelphia and was employed by Gimbel Brothers as a sales associate. After her marriage to Raymond, who was serving in the Navy, she travelled with her husband to Naval Bases throughout the country, until finally settling in Waterford, CT.
Mrs. Neal enjoyed being a homemaker and loved creating needlepoint and beading designs.
Mrs. Neal’s quick wit, beautiful smile and enthusiasm for life touched all she met.
She is survived by her devoted daughter Patricia Neal and her husband Steven Lang of North Stonington, grandson Christian Neal and his wife Juana of Scottsdale, Arizona and her two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Aidan. Her other grandchildren included Robert Neal of Newtown, CT, Mark Neal of Los Angeles, CA, Raymond Neal of Colchester, CT, John Neal of Lebanon, CT, and Michael Neal. Mrs. Neal was pre-deceased by her husband and her only son, Raymond Ronald and a grandson, Thomas.
A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 181 Ocean Ave., New London. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New London.
