Zachary Paul Viator

NEW IBERIA – Funeral services will be celebrated for Zachary Paul Viator, age 56, at 2:30 pm Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Evangeline Funeral Home. Fr. Ed. Degayter will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday at Evangeline Funeral Home from 9:00 am until time of services. The Rosary will be recited at 11:30 am.

Zachary was born July 5, 1956 in New Iberia to Weldon and Augusta LeBlanc Viator, and passed away peacefully on October 28, 2012 at his residence, with his loving family at his side.

Zachary was an avid pool player and was known and loved by many in the Pool Leagues in the area. But his greatest love was spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his mother, Augusta LeBlanc “Gussie” Viator; his sister, JoAnn Viator Cunningham and husband Ernest; a niece, Erica Mouret; and nephew and Godchild, Chad P. Viator all of New Iberia.

He was preceded in death by his father, Weldon “T-Boy” Viator; two sisters, Vicky Viator and Lisa V. Mouret; paternal grandparents, Stanley Viator and Lillian R. Hebert; and maternal grandparents, Louis and Evelyn C. LeBlanc.

Serving as pallbearers will be Barry, Jude and David Viator, Ernie Cunningham, and Tommy and Kernie LeBlanc.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Barry Viator, Karen Roselli, and the staff of Heart of Hospice for the care and compassion given to Zachary.
