A dedicated husband, father, grandfather, friend, and provider, Ronald’s life was a testament to hard work, love, and resilience.
After a long and fulfilling career working offshore for Exxon Mobil, he retired, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and dedication. But retirement didn’t slow him down; it merely gave him the time to indulge in his passions. He found joy in traveling with his wife and their two fur babies, Coco and Scooter, and enjoying the outdoors. Often, spending countless hours fishing with his good friend Roland Derouen and eagerly awaiting each hunting season.
Ronald's commitment to his family was palpable, exemplified by his deep love and devotion to his wife spoiling her throughout their 49 years of marriage. As a father, he served as a pillar of strength, offering wisdom and care. His love for his family was particularly evident in his support for his son Stuart during his terminal illness, providing comfort and courage until the very end.
Ronald's journey is one filled with love and resilience. He is preceded in death by his parents, Billeus Broussard and Inez Latiolais Broussard; brother, Russell Broussard Sr.; son, Stuart Simon; granddaughter, Lilly Broussard; brother-in-law, Harold Benny Saintes; and his beloved fur baby, Coco. But their memories lived on in his heart.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Dianne Saintes Broussard; daughter, Priscilla Sugar; son, Ronald Broussard Jr.; granddaughter, India “SweetPea” Sugar; daughter-in-law, Tammy Peltier; son-in-law, Bernard Sugar; late son’s partner, Bobby Childs; sisters-in-law, Gloria Saintes and Denice Broussard; brother, Johnny Johnson and wife Nancy; and fur baby Scooter.
In expressing gratitude, the family would like to thank Ronald’s caregivers: Tammy; Prissy; Kenneth Arnaud; Brandon and Ashley Saintes; Lawanda Brown; and Angela Nichols, Erin Guidry, Michelle, Doris, Stephanie and Ken. Special thanks to Dr. Robert Hankenhof, and staff members Bethany and Annie and Traditions Health.
