Rickey was born February 17, 1978 in New Iberia to Leffery J. Flores, Sr. and Shirley Romero Flores and was one of four children born to that union. He formerly worked for his father’s business, L & L Oilfield Sales and Services.
“Pip”, as he was known by family and friends, was a man who lived a simple life and had a love for the outdoors and living off the land. He spent many days behind his parent’s home on Lake Peigneur fishing, or picking buckets of pecans. A laugh was shared by the family when they spoke of Rickey’s other hobby for collecting and scrapping of things. But his greatest passion and love was for his family. He was a proud dad and grandfather, and cherished every moment spent with his family.
We will miss him dearly and know that he is not gone from us, only gone on before us with the promise of everlasting peace and rest. Until we meet again, we love you.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Kain Flores, Dixie Flores and Halee Rae Flores; his granddaughters who were his world, Marley Flores and Paislee Breaud; his parents, Shirley Romero Flores and Leffery J. Flores, Sr.; his sister and brothers, Katina Zamudio-Vargas and Ernesto; Leffery “Jake” Flores, Jr. and Brent Flores & Mandi Broussard; his children’s mothers, Mishala Terrebonne, Denise Turner and Crissy Jones; and a host of aunts, uncles, niece, nephews and many friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gladus Romero and Rita Bodin Romero; and his paternal grandparents, Leo Paul Flores, Sr. and Neolia Alleman Flores.
