Peggy was born on August 6, 1936, to the late Allen Verret and Thelma Bayone Jolet Verret and was one of four children born to that union. A talented beautician and seamstress, Peggy operated her own salon for many years before retiring. She lived a vibrant and fulfilling life alongside her beloved husband of 57 years, Ned Joseph Broussard, cherishing every moment they shared.
Among her many joys were camping, fishing, playing cards, and trips to the casino. Peggy and Ned created countless cherished memories at their camp at Cypremort Point and their favorite campground, Ken's on Lake Piegneur. They delighted in fishing together, often venturing out on their boat to reel in the day's catch. Peggy would then skillfully clean and fry the fish whole, just the way she liked them. Her passion for card games, particularly bouree, was well-known, as was her annual birthday excursion to the casino.
Peggy will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but there is solace in knowing that she is now reunited in Heaven with Ned, the love of her life, along with her parents, Allen Verret and Thelma Bayone Jolet Verret, and her siblings, Allen Verret, Jr., and Brenda Verret Robin.
Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Michael Verret, and his wife, Dean; her caregivers, Rody and Gwen Barrilleaux; her brother-in-law, Allen Robin; her dearest friend, Mary Lee Badeaux; and a host of nieces and nephews.
