NEW IBERIA - Pauline H. Sonnier, a cherished member of the New Iberia, Louisiana community, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the age of 57. Born in the heart of New Iberia to Sally Trautman and Robert Hebert, Pauline's life was a testament to love, laughter, and cherished moments with her family.
Pauline found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was casting her line into the calm waters for a day of fishing, exploring the aisles of her favorite stores on a shopping spree, or simply relishing in the warmth of family gatherings. Her vibrant spirit and infectious laughter brightened the lives of all who knew her.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories, survived by her beloved son, Harold James McNett, Jr. (Monique), her devoted mother, Sally Trautman (Alfred, Jr.), and her father, Robert Hebert. Pauline's presence will also be deeply missed by her brother, Alfred Trautman, III (Sarah), her half-brother, Quint Hebert, her sisters, Candi Rogers (Howard) and Tammy Wolfe, her nephews, James Hale, III, Patrick Rogers, and Spencer Pete (Lani). Her niece Emily Pete grand niece and nephew Camille and Gunner Pete. She was eagerly anticipating the next chapter of her life with her fiancé, Guy Jarell, whose heart now holds her memory dearly. Pauline's love extended to her grandchildren, Micha Dysart and Isaiah McNett, who brought her immeasurable joy.
While her earthly journey has come to an end, Pauline now joins her departed loved ones in eternal peace. She is reunited with her sister, Wendi Pete, and her maternal grandparents, Stoney Hotard Sr and Constance Hotard, her paternal grandparents Nicholas Hebert Sr., Emerite Thibodeaux, and Harris Thibodeaux, her step grandparents, Dorothy and Alfred Trauntmen Sr, her step brothers, Clarence “Johnny” Wolfe and Joshua Clements who welcomed her with open arms into the embrace of heaven.
A memorial service celebrating Pauline’s life will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia. Fr. David Furka will officiate. Pauline will be laid to rest after services in the serene surroundings of Holy Family Mausoleum, where her spirit will forever reside in the hearts of those who loved her.
A memorial gathering will take place at the funeral home from 8:00 am until the service time. A rosary will be prayed at 10:30 am.
