Nedia was born January 16, 1931 in Iberia Parish to the late John O’Brien, Jr. and Amelia Prince O’Brien, and passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at her residence, with her family at her side.
Mrs. Nedia, was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who lived a life devoted to her family and to the wellbeing of others. Along with raising a large family, she still found time to volunteer her services in helping those less fortunate. She spent countless hours at the Social Service Center and at the St. Francis Diner feeding the hungry. One of her greatest pastimes was quilting. Every one of her children and grandchildren were given a quilt made with her own hands, and she even let them pick the pattern they wanted. She also enjoyed ceramics and owned a store in New Iberia at one time. But it was her family that was most important to her. She leaves a legacy of love and many fond memories that will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her. Rest in peace dear Nedia.
